My best weight loss tip is everything in moderation. I found that I was able to lose a few extra pounds by giving into my cravings, but in moderation. When I would want cookies I would eat 5 plus oreos...now I satisfy the cookie craving with just 1 oreo.

My biggest tip that I find to really help me is to drink 8 glasses of water per day. I really do see that that helps to keep me full and flush my system. I also find that on days that I do not drink 8 glasses of water, that I tend to go off my diet easier.
I really wish you much luck. I too am trying to loose weight, so I know how hard it is to stick to the diet. But, you can do it!!!

drink plenty of water! It's good for you AND it will help fill you up so you don't want to eat!

  20. js22 said...

Write down everything you eat. Then when you get discouraged, you can look at the previous week's food diary and see if there was anything that stands out as a problem - if you see - ate a small Carvel cake - that is obviously the problem! Sometimes it is just plateau time, but then looking back at your food diary reinforces that you DID do what you were supposed to do, so you shouldn't feel bad!

So far, I started bicycling fairly often and at least 13 miles, but more depending upon the setting and if I'm riding in a group or not. I think bicycling is often overlooked as a means of losing weight because most people don't ride long or far enough to do anything. Anyway, it has been toning my legs quite a bit in the last month, and I feel better when I ride than when I don't.

My tip is to not eat anything after 6pm. At first it is hard to do, but after a couple weeks you get in the habit of not wanting anything after 6pm.

  26. NL6369 said...

My best tip.....don't beat yourself up if you slip. It's ok to have a bad day and eat something you didn't want to. Getting upset and beating yourself up over it is the fastest way to give up on your diet/lifestyle change. Chock it up as an oops and move on.

  27. sphinx63 said...

Another tip is to only eat at the kitchen table. If you make it a habit, you will find that you won't want to stop whatever you are doing just so you can sit at the table and eat something. For example, if you are on the internet, you might usually grab a snack to eat while you are blogging. If you do this, you won't want to get off the internet just so you can eat something. It's more fun to stay on the internet. The trick is to retrain yourself to not see food as fun, but as something to keep you alive. Best of luck to you!

Don't go on a diet, but rather, change the way you eat. Become a vegetarian focusing on vegetables, fruits, grain, nuts, seeds, beans, etc. This is a guaranteed way to lose weight and keep it off. Don't consider it a diet, consider it a way of life. Throw in daily exercise like a 30 minute brisk walk and good health and a slim body will be your reward!

The best weight loss secret I know is that your life doesn't change just because you get thin, or can wear a bikini, or can fit into your wedding dress. You will still always see the overweight person you were, no matter what the mirror says. It's better to eat and exercise for your health, and forget what the scale says.

The best way to lose weight and keep it off is to eat a raw food diet. If you can't do that then eat as much raw fruits, vegetables, nuts and seeds that you can. This is how I have lost weight, kept it off and have improved my health in so many ways.

Have one day where you treat yourself to something really special.
Be it food or something else.
It is a rough road losing weight.
Goals are great. Have to have them to accomplish the things you want to do.
My weight loss is starting in Sept.
My birthday month so I will be feeling your pain,
but it is not fun being overweight.

Eat less more often -- or, in better terms, eat 5 or 6 small, well-balanced meals a day. It keeps your metabolism working fast ;)

If you are eating out, ask for a to-go box even before you start eating, divide the servings in half and take the rest home for another meal. In addition to cutting your intake, it also saves money!

My best tip to stay healthy is to be active, walk lots, and watch your calorie intake. In the end, it really does pay off. Thanks for a great giveaway :)

I've struggled with my weight my whole life. Only recently have I learned that, contrary to what I was taught all along, that fat is your friend! I eat as much cheese, meat, sour cream as I want - put heavy cream in my coffee or tea and use real butter. I just avoid carbs/starches/sugars. THEY are your enemies! I'm proud to say I now sport a size 4 and have been maintaining that for about a year and change now. I've never looked or felt better!

I just lost 60 lbs. (I had a baby over a year ago, although only 40 of that was put on during my pregnancy)...I lost it just by keeping up with my very active son! Once he started moving I didn't have time to snack...I barely had time to eat 3 meals...and I am always constantly moving with him! So, stay active and eat everything in moderation!

Walk, walk, walk! Give up on elevators, park far away in parking lots (if you even have to drive), make as much time for walking as you can incorporate.

Get moving. It does not have to be a set amount of time for definite exercise. It can be everyday activity. Walk to change the tv channel instead of the remote. Walk to a nearby store instead of driving there. Take stairs instead of the elevator. These little measures add up.

Above all, if you have a no-exercise and/or overeating day, just start again the next day and don't beat yourself up over it.
