VERY Disappointing

So as Moms the story I'm about to tell you is likely going to enrage you but this is honestly what happened to us the other day and I'm so angry I feel compelled to write about it.

My daughter even at the age of 5 is a true non-conformist. She is very difficult to parent sometimes for this reason but I love her independent spirit and don't want to squash it so I do encourage her independence to a point.

Anyways she's very creative and loves to pick her own clothes and asked me if she could pick her own dress off the Internet.

We searched and I couldn't find what she was asking for so I approached a seamstress who sketched out what my daughter wanted, let my daughter pick the fabrics and we had it made. Anyways my daughter got it and loved it and proudly wore it with her new backpack on her first day of school.

Anyways hubby dropped her off at daycare before school and the staff started teasing her about her new dress. Can you imagine poking fun at a 5 year old for what she has chosen to wear ! Fortunately hubby said my daughter wasn't really paying attention so she didn't hear and no damage was done but I was furious.

So now I don't know what to do. We can't move daycares because it's the only one that services our school and she is stuck there until she's 12 so I don't want to antagonize the staff in case there is a backlash but on the other hand I'm angry and it makes me wonder what else goes on with my daughter when I'm not there.

I asked her if she was happy there and she said she was and honestly she's really outspoken so I'd know if she wasn't but I'm angry anyways.

It's days like this when I wish we were rich and I could afford to be a SAHM.

I am just so angry. (I know I'm repeating myself sorry but I find typing this sentence out strangely therapeutic !)
